Doc’s Page
Thanks for dropping in. You’ve found me on the deck of my home in Sonora, California where most of Doc and the Judge was perfected. Parts of the book were written in Nimbim, Byron Bay, Adelaide, Melbourne and Launceston Tasmania all during our trip to Australia. I sought out spots I knew the Judge’s soul would seek out. His spirit kept pace by my side throughout as you’ll discover in detail in the book.

The photo to the left is a breathtaking yet typical view of sunset from my deck. I found this place in 2001 while on a tour of America to promote breast cancer awareness for young women with my wife Mari who’d been diagnosed with terminal breast cancer at age 29. She died here shortly thereafter. Sonora is my refuge from a maddening world, a haven for retrospection, introspection and a place that is as close to God and purity as I’ve ever experienced.
I hope you enjoy the book but as importantly I hope a bond between us takes hold and grows. I’m interested in your life’s experiences. How did you live the 70’s and 80’s? Where are you in your life today? What does tomorrow hold? What legacy do you leave your children, grandchildren? What issues do you still grapple with, if any?
I invite you back to this site often and this page particularly where you’ll find I’ve collected universal experiences and put them into my own words to share with you. I caution the book is written in the frank and unbridled style Doc and the Judge lived. You’ll also see thoughtful words and phrases that you will feel deeply as coming from a person who has come full circle in life…then again, which evolving heart hasn’t?
Enjoy! And please share your thoughts with me.
Best wishes,
Gary (Doc) Granger

RM, thanks for taking time to send a message after reading the book. Yes, my mother left an indelible mark; she lives on inside me and guides my every move. I’ll bet you have similar feelings for your mother, and if you are a mother, I’ll bet your children feel the same about you. Glad you enjoyed Doc and the Judge’s journey. May God bless you.
Wow Doc – What an amazing journey. I just read the last part outloud to my husband with a chuckle. (The part about the Judge golfling with ‘you know who’) You are an incredibly gifted story teller…..I felt as if I was watching a screenplay in my mind reading each chapter! But truly – my favorite part was the revelation of your core all throughout the book – even as you and the Judge ‘left your mark’ during those wild and crazy years! You were truly blessed with a beautiful mother and family, and I remember firsthand your sincere reverence for your beginnings ,family, and doing what’s right. Congratulations!
Thanks, “R” from Texas. Appreciate your warm words. Hope you enjoyed the “Texas Bed and Breakfast” story. Stay in touch.

Spyder, thanks for your message. You’re talking about our days together at WSHE, “She’s Only Rock n Roll Bitch.” They were good times and I’m glad you remember them fondly.
Gary, Look forward to reading the book! I have nothing but a smile on my face when I remember working with you and the Judge in my “infant” radio days.
You will develop a long and lasting friendship with Doc and the Judge. Promise!
I have had a long friendship….. but I’m not sure it is with Doc or the Judge. I will know when I read the book. I’ll give a new posting at that time.
Rita:
Thanks for your comments. You will experience laughter and tears as you read the entire book. A book signing event will be held at Turkey Creek Country Club in Alachua, Fl. on March 20th. Hope to see you there. God Bless You!
Dear Gary,
